Yajood (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates the Yajood mobile application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information: Email address, username, phone number, date of birth, gender, and profile picture.

Location Data: Your GPS location and selected commune/province when you create or browse listings.

Content You Create: Donations, requests, exchanges, chat messages, reviews, reports, and media (photos/videos) you upload.

Device Information: Device identifier and platform for delivering push notifications.

Third-Party Sign-In: If you sign in with Google or Facebook, we receive your name, email, and profile picture from that provider.

Usage Data: Last active date, in-app activity statistics, and reputation score.

2. How We Use Your Information

• Provide and operate the service (matching donors with recipients, facilitating chats and reservations)
• Show nearby listings based on your location
• Send push notifications about relevant activity
• Moderate content and enforce community guidelines
• Calculate reputation scores based on your activity
• Send account-related emails (verification, password reset)

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal data. We share information only with service providers that help us operate the app:

• Cloud storage provider — to store photos and media you upload
• Push notification provider (Google Firebase) — to deliver notifications to your device
• Email provider — to send verification and password reset emails
• Google / Facebook — only during sign-in if you choose social login

We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect user safety.

4. What Other Users Can See

Your username, profile picture, reputation score, and listings you create are visible to other users. Chat messages are private between the two participants.

5. Data Security

We use industry-standard encryption and security practices to protect your data. Passwords are stored using secure one-way hashing and are never stored in plain text.

6. Data Retention

Your data is retained while your account is active. You can delete your account and all associated data directly from the app. Once deleted, your data cannot be recovered.

7. Data Deletion Request

You have the right to request the deletion of your personal data at any time. There are two ways to do this:

Option 1: Delete Your Account from the App (Recommended)

1. Open the Yajood app and sign in to your account
2. Go to Settings → Account → Delete Account
3. Confirm with your password
4. Your account and all associated data will be permanently deleted immediately

Option 2: Request Deletion by Email

If you cannot access your account or prefer to request deletion manually, send an email to [support@yajood.app] with:

• Subject line: “Data Deletion Request”
• The email address associated with your Yajood account
• A brief confirmation that you want your data deleted

We will verify your identity and process your request within 30 days. You will receive a confirmation email once your data has been deleted.

What Data Is Deleted

When you delete your account, the following data is permanently removed:

• Your profile information (email, username, phone, date of birth, profile picture)
• Your donations, requests, and exchanges, along with their photos and videos
• Your reviews, reports, and follow relationships
• Your notification preferences and device tokens
• Your in-app activity history and reputation score
• Your chat participation and reservations

What Data May Be Retained

For legal, safety, or operational reasons, we may retain certain data even after account deletion:

• Anonymized chat messages (your identity is removed, but message history may remain visible to the other participant in the conversation)
• Records required by law (e.g., moderation actions against accounts that violated our terms)
• Aggregated or anonymized data that cannot identify you

8. Your Rights

You can access and update your profile information in the app, control your notification preferences, and delete your account directly from the app settings. You may also request a copy of your personal data by contacting us at the email below.

9. Children’s Privacy

Yajood is not intended for children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or by email.
